History of Animation

Animation has come a long way from where it began. Past cartoon forms were in black in white with no sound and basic character structure. Today cartoon characters have a certain life within them from the detail and personality artists can create within them. One of the past inventions that shaped the path animation took to get where it is today is the phenakistoscope, a disk of sequential images spun to create a single image that appeared to move with a life of it's on. From then on, the technology and art used to create animations continued to grow and advance, creating the skillful work we know today.
